LONG BEACH — Senior quarterback Jordyn Washington led the St. Anthony girls flag football team with two touchdown passes in the first half. However, the Saints could not overcome Bishop Amat’s adjustments and second-half surge in a 27-12 loss in a nonleague game at the St. Anthony Athletic Complex Monday night.
“Jordyn is a fantastic student-athlete,” St. Anthony coach Vincent Nolasco said. “A great leader. She’s doing a great job stepping in as quarterback. Last year she played receiver but this year we needed her to be a quarterback and she’s just thriving in her role.”
The Saints dropped to 3-2 overall and will host St. Mary’s Academy in a Camino Real League opener Wednesday.
