Two new treatments for cancer have been approved for use by the NHS in Scotland. ‌

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has accepted Blinatumomab, which is also known as Blincyto. ‌

It is used for treating adults with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia . ‌

Rucaparib , which is also known as Rubraca, was also accepted for use.

It will be used as a maintenance treatment for adults with advanced ovarian cancer, following first-line chemotherapy.
