A former Scots Darts World Champion and star of one of the most iconic game shows of the 80s had his life take a devastating turn in his final years, dying penniless in a council flat despite his global success. Battling with depression as well as his crumbling family life and dwindling finances, Jocky Wilson died a recluse, rarely leaving his home before he passed away aged 62 in 2012.
Wilson was ahead of his time in the 1980s when darts mania had only just struck the UK Before the likes of Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries, there were dart legends Eric Bristow, John Lowe and Jocky Wilson. The star, who grew up on a council estate in Kirkcaldy, kick started his career at the local Lister Bar where he used to go to throw darts for fun.
