CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Voters in the Cedar Rapids Community School District will officially decide on the district’s $117 million bond proposal on November 4.
The Board of Education approved placing the bond referendum on the ballot during its meeting Monday night.
If passed by voters, money for the bond would pay for renovations and updates at multiple schools including McKinley, Roosevelt, Wilson, and Kennedy High School.
Last week, the group Believe in CR Schools delivered a petition signed by more than 6,100 people signing in support of putting the referendum on the ballot -- more than the 5,500 that was needed.
During Monday’s meeting, board president Cindy Garlock thanked people supporting the bond referendum.
