An Edinburgh family have told of their experience transforming a community pub and making it their own.

Couple Stuart Evans, 50, and Jacqui Evans, 50, completely renovated the Mid Yoken in East Craigs after it sadly closed its doors in January.

The bar had been their local for 18 years and they were gutted to find out it was closing up and decided to take a leap and develop the crucial community spot.

After the doors opened in June, the couple say the spot has gone from "strength to strength" after being encouraged to take on the venture by friends and family.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Stuart said: "Having opened to a standing ovation from a strong queue of regulars and new guests, the Mid Yoken has gone from strength to strength and has developed into a crucial part of the community
