The Maclean Brothers who have just finished their unsupported row across the Pacific from Peru to Australia have raised £950,000 for their cause of providing clean water to projects in Madagascar.

Their world record 9,000 mile row was completed in 139 days, and during the long days and nights they were supported by some Scottish celebrities including Ewan McGregor and Ally McCoist. McCoist joked that it was embarrassing the men are flying home – insisting they should row back.

Ewan, Lachlan and Jamie always said that while this was a challenge the aim was to provide funding for clean water which they founded through the Maclean Foundation founded with their dad, Charlie, the whisky expert.

Thus far the sum raised is just below the £1 million. As they fly home the push is on to raise the
