Vision loss makes life difficult. Not being able to read a label, identify clothing colors, tell what’s in the fridge, or drive are just a few of the daily frustrations faced by those with low or no vision. But visual impairment can also threaten life or health. Indeed, some research suggests that vision deficits may actually result in a shorter lifespan.

It may come as no surprise that persons with visual impairment suffer more accidents and injuries.
