A man has died after falling into an empty silo at a factory. ‌

Emergency crews were called to Woodland Avenue in Speke, Merseyside, at around 7.20pm on Monday, September 8 after the alarm was raised that a man had plummeted into the empty silo. ‌

The 45-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Merseyside Police have launched an investigation with detectives working alongside the Health and Safety Executive. The man's next-of-kin have been informed, the ECHO reports. ‌

Police could be seen on the second floor inside the unit on Monday night. A hazardous response team from MFRS entered the building to entered the building with gas readings indicating normal levels.
