People served by Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet have been cruising in style as the result of a grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The agency applied the funds toward the purchase a new fully accessible ProMaster wheelchair van, which has a cost of $148,700.

Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet serves 200 individuals in its nine group homes and within the community.

“The impact of this grant can’t be overstated,” chief executive officer Joanna Mataya said in an interview Monday.

“It’s helping us keep people more engaged in the community.”

The agency already had one “similar” vehicle. The latest purchase has been on the road for about a year.
