LANSING, MI - About 350,000 Michigan workers who received unemployment benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic will be expected to pay back $2.7 billion that the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency says were overpayments.

Collections on these overpayments have been paused because of a 2022 class-action lawsuit brought against the agency, according to a Monday Sept. 8 news release.
