NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Multiple Penn Station-bound LIRR trains have been rerouted during the morning rush hour commute, according to the MTA's website.

Some Penn Station-bound trains are being rerouted to Grand Central Terminal while the MTA inspects the tracks in one of the Amtrak tunnels, the website says.

Commuters are warned to expect delays and cancellations throughout the morning.

To help accommodate, the subway will cross-honor LIRR fares. For service to Penn Station, commuters are advised to transfer at Woodside, or take the No. 7 train from Grand Central to Times Sq-42 St, and then transfer to the Nos.1, 2 or 3 trains.
