GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Jocelyn Slaughter began her business class at JL Mann High School holding a bag of Starburst candies to share with students who engaged in a conversation about perseverance. But students were likely unaware that the real reward of the class is Slaughter herself.
“Part of my goal is to help people be successful and to help change the world,” Slaughter told FOX Carolina. “You can definitely do that through teaching.”
Slaughter started teaching for the Greenville County Schools five years ago. Prior to that, she spent about 20 years in the business world working for various corporations and as an executive in nonprofit organizations after graduating from Amherst College and getting a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
