AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken City Council held its first reading on Monday evening to discuss the tiny home project.
The meeting was held in order to hear community members’ concerns about the Arbor Ridge transitional housing project.
Nearly 1 year after Helene, recovery groups still have plenty of work
The devastation of Hurricane Helene left many families without a home. Almost a year later, some families have since recovered, but there are many still recovering.
“This is really hard to say. I hope you don’t vote for this, but I hope we find something better,” one person said.
The public comment period lasted for almost two hours, during which council members listened to individuals who both opposed and supported the project.
If plans move forward, the project is expected t
