A mum was left absolutely mortified after overhearing how her husband addressed their 15-month-old baby whilst she was feeling poorly.

The woman revealed her daughter had recently begun attending nursery and contracted "a bad cold," which is typical when little ones encounter fresh germs.

She'd been finding it challenging as her baby is breastfed, meaning all the "night wakings and resettlings" fell to her.

"She woke up tonight, and I couldn't get her back to sleep. I tried everything I could think of, but she was still crying after an hour," the exhausted mum posted on Mumsnet.

The mum was so overwhelmed she roused her husband for assistance so she could pop to the loo, hoping he might be able to comfort their little one, reports the Mirror .
