MESA, Ariz. — A suspect was injured after a shooting at a business in Mesa, the city's police department said.

Officers reportedly responded to a call near Baseline and Recker roads for reports of a shooting early Tuesday morning.

Based on information gathered by officers, a confrontation occurred due to a man being on the property. The business owner then reportedly confronted the man and the business owner was attacked and beaten.

Police said the business owner then allegedly shot the suspect who was attacking him. According to authorities, the suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the gunshot.
