HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)-- An event honoring the protestors who lost their lives during a protest in Nepal will be held in Harrisburg on Tuesday night.

According to the Associated Press, Nepal's Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli resigned on Tuesday after a protest against the ban of X, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media platforms grew increasingly violent, resulting in police opening fire on the crowds, killing 19 people.

Monday's protest, led by young people, escalated from anger about the social media ban to criticism of the government and accusations of corruption, the AP said. The social media ban was lifted on Tuesday, but protestors continued and went as far as setting fire to the parliament building and homes of political leaders.
