SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A magnet fisherman from Florida assisted Shreveport Police in recovering what they say is a stolen firearm, and in the process, helped put the woman allegedly responsible behind bars.

Bryce Nachtwey and his Outdoors Weekly team were in Shreveport last week after being tagged in a video circulating on social media, which appeared to show a woman discarding evidence into Cross Lake from the bridge above.

"I viewed it more as a challenge to see if I could test my magnet fishing skills and see if we could help the police locate it and it turned out successful," said Nachtwey.

On Monday, the SPD stated that they had arrested Alexis Mullone. Booking records show that she was taken into custody on Friday, September 5.
