CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman died in a fire on Chicago's Far South Side, police said.

The fire department responded to the fire at about 6:58 a.m. in the 11000 block of S. Avenue N, police said.

A 73-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the house. Police said she died at the scene.

Chicago police said there were no other injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
