MILLEN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man was arrested after he was accused of child molestation in Jenkins County, according to authorities.

The Jenkins County Sheriff’s Office says it was contacted by the Statesboro Police Department in reference to a child molestation case.

Family members and local residents are searching for answers after an apparent domestic dispute ended with the murder of a 37-year-old and her mother in an Augusta parking lot.

The sheriff’s office says deputies arrested Angel Hernandez Mendoza on Aug. 27 with the help of the GBI.

He was booked into the Jenkins County Jail.

Mendoza is charged with one count of child molestation, according to officials.
