GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A Greenville County Detention Center officer and an inmate have been charged with criminal conspiracy and possession of contraband inside a jail.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said Rendell Rashad Berry, 39, was charged with criminal conspiracy and furnishing contraband to an inmate at a county jail Thursday.
On that same day, SLED charged Shamaurie Nathaniel Olijahwan Mushande Robinson, 26, with criminal conspiracy and possession of contraband inside a county jail, according to reports.
Warrants state that on March 1, 2024, Berry conspired to provide a contraband vape device to Robinson, and received a payment of $50 in return.
Both Berry and Robinson were booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.
