The Scottish men’s and women’s padel titles are residing in Edinburgh after weekend final wins for Sports Club and Barnton Park.

Both teams defeated West of Scotland opposition at David Lloyd, Shawfair.

The Sports Club women’s team had a much more nail-biting contest and had to go to a 10 point shoot out to overcome their rivals after the match score was tied at two rubbers apiece.

Trailing 1-4 early on Sports Club, represented by Desni Nixon, Mhairi Wrench, Jo Cowie and Harriet Balloch, turned the tide to edge home 10-8 against a team who were two time champions.

Barnton Park, represented by David Holmes, Calum Gordon, Will Lyburn and Andy Burgess had a more comfortable 3-1 overall success.
