New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has announced that the state will be the first in the nation to guarantee free child care for all beginning in November.

According to the governor's office, the new program will make child care free to families of all income levels in New Mexico.

The governor's office says the state is able to offer free child care by removing all income eligibility requirements from the child care assistance program and by continuing waivers of co-payments by families.
