In a TikTok video gone viral, a dog owner has shared the reason why she can't keep her foster pup and internet users can't cope with it.

Shared on Saturday under the username @maggiewiththedogs, the clip shows the woman's foster dog lying on the couch, hugging her Australian shepherd, enjoying the feeling of having a family, for however long it lasts.

"People might think this is so cute, and it is, but this is why we can't keep our foster dogs" the poster can be heard saying.

Newsweek reached out to @maggiewiththedogs for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the post.

She explained that while the foster dog is adorable, her own dog Finley isn't willing to share his home long-term, so she can only provide a temporary foster.
