Defender Brendan Galloway will be returning to Plymouth Argyle without playing any minutes of Zimbabwe's latest two 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

As he had been when the Warriors lost 1-0 to Benin last Friday, the 29-year-old was an unused substitute for another 1-0 defeat, this time by Rwanda, at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, today.

Zimbabwe are bottom of their group in African qualification for the World Cup with their last two matches to be played in October, but they have reached the finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco at the end of this year.

Galloway now faces a return journey to Plymouth, via London, of around 6,000 miles, ahead of Argyle's League One game away to Luton Town, his former club, at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
