TYLER, Texas — Scotty Lee Goble, who was convicted of shooting and killing Tyler taqueria owner Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr. last October, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Tuesday.

Goble, of Frost, was convicted Monday of murder in the death of Ramirez, 38, of Tyler. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the restaurant’s parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024. Goble pleaded not guilty on Aug. 26, and his attorneys had argued self-defense.

An argument began over a drink order and escalated when Goble’s son, Justin Goble, slammed a door. Goble then placed his 9-month-old child in a car seat near the door, and a fight broke out in the parking lot. Goble pulled out his gun and shot Ramirez.
