JACKSONVILLE, Texas — Two construction workers in Jacksonville were injured in a controlled burn.
Chief Paul Findley with Jacksonville Fire Department said his crews received a call around 11:50 a.m. indicating activity occurred in the 1600 block of South Jacksonville related to a controlled burn. Dispatch was soon advised at least one person was injured with possible burn injuries.
Crews arrived to find two men who had suffered from burn injuries while attempting to burn a large brush pile. They were transported to separate hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
Findley said that both men were "seriously injured." Both workers were employed by Welch Excavation & Utility Co.
A spokesperson for Welch Excavation & Utility Co. said both men were being transported to Parkland Hospital
