The Pittsburgh Steelers signed veteran safety Jabrill Peppers on Tuesday, which indicated that safety DeShon Elliott could miss some time after going down with a knee injury in Week 1 against the New York Jets. Now, we know the severity of the injury, and the Steelers dodged the worst possible outcome.

Per Jordan Schultz, Elliott has a sprained MCL.

“Sources: Steelers S DeShon Elliott is expected to miss a couple of weeks with an MCL sprain,” Schultz reports. “All things considered, it’s not viewed as a serious injury. The goal is to be back for Week 4 vs the Vikings in Ireland. In the meantime, Pittsburgh has signed Jabrill Peppers.”
