UPPER TOWNSHIP — No Name Road will finally have a name.
The tiny and long overlooked dead end off Route 50 could soon be renamed Empress Court, under an ordinance introduced Monday by the Township Committee.
The ordinance requires a public hearing and final vote before it can take effect.
Committee members did not discuss the issue in any detail before the vote, but after the meeting said the residents had requested the change, and the lofty new name.
The few houses along the road, which runs a little more than 250 feet, have mailboxes along Route 50 because otherwise their mail would never make it to an address on No Name Road, which the ordinance states is also known as “Unnamed Road.”
“But what if you wanted to order a pizza?” said Committee member Victor Nappen II. Other committee
