WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 22-year-old man was injured after a drive-by shooting on Monday, Sept. 8, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Police said they responded to 15th St. at around 11:40 a.m. to reports of gunfire. Christopher Deshawn Smith, 22, had already been taken to the hospital when officers arrived. Police said he is in stable condition.

Smith was injured in a drive-by shooting, according to police.

Officers found the suspect vehicle on the 900 block of Gillette Street.

Kahdjle Dequan Johnson, 19, was found inside a home on Gillette St. and allegedly refused to exit, according to police. Winston-Salem SWAT responded and took him into custody, police said.
