WILLINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) - State police are investigating after a crash led to a drug bust on I-84 late Saturday night.

At 10:30 p.m., a trooper witnessed a white Honda Accord exit the highway at Exit 71 and crash into a guardrail near the Loves truck stop.

As the Trooper approached the scene and activated emergency lights, the driver jumped out of the car and fled into the wooded area behind the truck stop.

A passenger also exited the vehicle and attempted to flee toward a second vehicle that had pulled in behind the trooper.

K9 Viper chased down the passenger, after they ignored multiple commands to stop.

The K9 stopped the suspect, who was then taken into custody after receiving medical care.

The second vehicle fled the scene before it could be stopped.
