MUSKEGON – Golf can often be a mentally exhausting sport but Sophia McCollum has seemingly mastered that area of her game.
The junior standout for the Reeths-Puffer girls golf team has emerged as one of the top golfers in the West Michigan area this fall, as she’s combined her physical skills with a competitive mindset that has driven her to several first-place finishes.
Earlier this season, McCollum took first-place honors with a nine-hole score of 39 at an OK Green Conference jamboree at Railside Golf Club, and added another first-place finish with a two-day score of 153 at the Lober Classic.
“We are very proud of Sophia,” said Reeths-Puffer girls golf coach Matt Pallett. “She is a two-time all-conference performer and is coming off a sophomore year in which she was an honorable menti
