LANSING — The City of Lake City has earned the Redevelopment Ready Communities Essentials designation for its efforts to streamline the development process and establish a long-term vision for community growth, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced Monday.
According to a Sept. 9 news release from the MEDC, the statewide RRC initiative — launched in 2013 — encourages communities to adopt planning, zoning, and economic development best practices to become more competitive for future investment.
In 2021, MEDC introduced two levels of recognition — Essentials and Certified — allowing municipalities to choose the approach that fits their capacity and goals.
