LAKE CITY — The city of Lake City, achieving a special designation by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation for its efforts in planning for the city’s future.

Lake City is now recognized as an MEDC Redevelopment Ready Community, or RRC with an ‘Essentials Designation’.

RRC launched more than a decade ago and empowers communities to build a foundation of planning, zoning, and economic best practices and integrating them into everyday functions.

Lake City mayor, Craig Ardis said the designation is a formal acknowledgement that Lake City has a clear vision for the future and the essential practices to reach that vision.
