EMMET COUNTY — An Alanson woman has been arrested and charged in the death of nine-month-old infant.

The arrest stems from an incident back on May 19, when deputies were called to a home on Oden Road in Alanson, where the baby was reported to have drowned.

Investigators spent the time between then and now gathering evidence, which was given over to the Emmet County Prosecutor’s Office.

Moranda Legato was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Second-Degree Child Abuse.

Right now, Legato is out on bond and is scheduled to be back in court on September 24.
