PROSPECT HEIGHTS — FORMOSA, a family-run Taiwanese dumpling and noodle shop , has opened a second location at 43 Underhill Ave. in Prospect Heights, according to Patch. Co-owners Hsin Chang Lee and his daughter Chuya Lee launched the Bushwick original in 2023, building on Lee’s dumpling experience in Taiwan. The new shop serves handmade dumplings, beef noodle soup, lu rou fan and other Taiwanese street food staples. The location is currently open Friday through Sunday as staffing ramps up.

“Formosa” is the former European name for Taiwan, which roughly translates into “ beautiful island ” in Portuguese, according to sources linked in Wikipedia.
