MANCHESTER, Conn. (WFSB) - An elderly driver has died following a crash in Manchester on Tuesday morning.

At around 7:26 a.m. officers were called to the area of East Center Street after a report of motor vehicle crash, the police department said.

It was revealed that a vehicle heading eastbound, operated by an 83-year-old Manchester resident hit a parked car on the eastbound shoulder before colliding with another vehicle traveling eastbound on East Center Street.

Following an investigation, there’s reason to believe that the driver suffered a medical emergency before the crash.

First responders arrived on scene and provide life-saving measures.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, but later died.

This incident remains under investigation at this time.
