PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — An eastern Kentucky school district had to cancel all scheduled bus routes on Tuesday morning.
According to Floyd County Schools, a "high number" of bus drivers were absent due to illness on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Parents and guardians were asked to transport their children to school and pick them up at dismissal.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our families," Floyd County Schools said. "We understand the disruption this may create to daily schedules and greatly appreciate the patience, flexibility, and support of our school community. The district remains committed to student safety and to keeping families informed when unexpected circumstances arise."
