Russell Wilson's time as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants did not get off to the best start. The former Seattle Seahawks QB went 17-of-37 and threw for 168 yards in the Giants' 21-6 defeat to the Washington Commanders.

His completion percentage of 45.9% was the worst of his career when he had made at least 35 passing attempts.

For those who have been following Wilson's career since he left the Seahawks in 2021, this is not a surprise. Wilson has struggled to live up to his former reputation, and his days as one of the best quarterbacks in the league are in the past.

This was something that Giants coach Brian Daboll should have been aware of when he brought Wilson to the team to essentially serve as a "bridge quarterback" before Jaxson Dart takes over the role.
