OKMULGEE, Okla. (KFOR) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating a homicide that left one man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

According to OSBI, its office was requested by the Okmulgee Police Department on September 8, 2025, after officers responded to a shooting call near Kennedy Street and North Miami Avenue.

Officers say upon arrival, 37-year-old Chadwick Thompson was located with an apparent gunshot wound. Police provided life-saving medical care but Thompson died on scene.

OSBI agents determined during the investigation Thompson had an altercation with another adult male prior to the shooting. Police say the male subject has been contacted but no arrests have been made.
