LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Republican congressman co-leading the charge on releasing files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case called a birthday letter purportedly from President Donald Trump a "distraction,” according to ABC News.

"It doesn't prove anything," U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) said. "Having a birthday card from Trump doesn't help the survivors and the victims. It doesn't name an additional new person."

The White House denied Trump sent the card.

Massie and U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-California) came together to co-sponsor the Epstein Files Transparency Act. It was introduced to the House in July 2025. The legislation is a discharge petition to bypass House Speaker Mike Johnson if it gets 218 votes from House members.
