PULLMAN, Wash - Washington State football fans are one giant step closer to being allowed to buy alcohol inside the stadium at football games - starting with the Apple Cup.

Washington's Liquor and Cannabis Board's caucus moved forward a one-year pilot program Tuesday morning that would allow WSU vendor Aramark to sell beer and wine in the general stadium areas for the first time ever.

It goes to the full Liquor and Cannabis Board Wednesday.

WSU plays at North Texas Saturday so the first game this could be allowed is September 20th when the Cougs host in-state rivals the University of Washington Huskies.

Right now, Cougar fans can only buy alcohol on the club and suite levels.

The pilot program allows for beer and wine sales everywhere in the stadium except the student section.
