Well at least a little bit of good came out of this one.
Despite Kyle Shanahan saying in his post-game press conference that Jake Moody’s job security was unquestionably safe, the Seattle Seahawks managed to get the San Francisco 49ers to waive kicker Jake Moody following Sunday’s loss. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Niners’ former third-round pick is now gone after a frustrating tenure with the organization, lasting just over two seasons in the Bay Area.
Prior to the start of this season, Moody converted a paltry 70.6 percent of field goal tries in 2024, converting on just 24 of his 34 attempts over 14 games. Sure enough, Moody’s struggles last season would be a harbinger of what was to come during Sunday’s season opener.
Moody went just one-for-three on field goal attempts again
