More showers and storms are beginning to pop up this afternoon across the mountains. These storms will drift east through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will continue to be above average for afternoon highs. Another round of isolated to scattered showers and storms will return again Wednesday.
A storm system will approach New Mexico from the northwest Thursday and Friday, drawing up some moisture into the state ahead of it. This will increase the chance for rain both days, especially in western, central, and northern New Mexico, along with southwest Colorado. The heaviest rain will fall in the San Juan Mountains in New Mexico and Colorado. Temperatures will also be cooler with the increasing moisture.
