Storm chances increase across parts of New Mexico into the end of the week with cooler air by the weekend. The heaviest rain will fall in northwestern parts of the state.

A few more storms have developed Tuesday afternoon across New Mexico. A couple of these storms have turned strong to even severe down around the Sacramento Mountains. Showers and storms will continue to drift east through this evening as they will eventually end later tonight. It has been another warm day across the state as well, with high temperatures back above average for early September.

A couple showers may stick around overnight into Wednesday morning in northern New Mexico where moisture is streaming into. This is also where we will see the best chance for heavier rainfall Wednesday afternoon, along with southwe
