Storm chances increase across parts of New Mexico into the end of the week with cooler air by the weekend. The heaviest rain will fall in northwestern parts of the state.

A few more storms have developed Tuesday across New Mexico. A couple of these storms have turned strong to even severe across eastern parts of the state. Storms developed around the Albuquerque Metro tonight, bringing an intense lightning show and heavy rain. Parts of the Metro have picked up as much as 1" of rain tonight. It has been another warm day across the state as well, with high temperatures back above average for early September.

A couple showers may stick around overnight into Wednesday morning in northern New Mexico where moisture is streaming into. This is also where we will see the best chance for heavier r
