Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GS&P) has appointed Sarah Thompson as its first chief executive officer.

The appointment marks a homecoming for one of advertising’s most accomplished leaders. Thompson began her career as an account manager at GS&P in the early 1990s, before moving on to help build Droga5 into one of the most celebrated creative shops of the 2000s.

Thompson spent more than a decade at Droga5, ultimately serving as global CEO until 2021, where she guided the agency through international expansion and its 2019 sale to Accenture . She later became global head of advertising and content at Accenture Song, overseeing 5,000 global staffers and integrating more than a dozen acquisitions into the network.
