LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Louisville man is in jail after Kentucky State Police say he assaulted a trooper on I-24 in Livingston County.
According to officials, a trooper spotted Ravon Briggs walking on the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge.
The trooper stopped to check on and assist him off the interstate, as pedestrians are not permitted to walk along limited access highways. Once the trooper stopped, he stated that Briggs refused to identify himself.
The trooper attempted to take Briggs into custody but Briggs fought back, resisting arrest. A driver passing by on I-24 pulled over and helped the trooper subdue Briggs.
Briggs, 28, was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd Degree - Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, and Stop/Stand/Park on Limited A
