LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Republicans in Metro Council have come up with a list of policy and legislative proposals they say will help make Louisville a safer city.
The proposals, which are part of the Republican Caucus’s Safer Louisville plan, were unveiled Tuesday.
Republican members of Metro Council said some of these proposals address aspects of crime that can escalate into more dangerous criminal activity, while others look to bring more officers into local neighborhoods.
Councilwoman Ginny Mulvey-Woolridge, who represents District 24, believes this list of ideas can help reduce gun violence in Louisville.
“I think, no matter what we do, focusing on any crime is going to reduce our gun violence,” she mentioned.
