Twelve Republican members of the Louisville Metro Council have introduced more than a dozen proposals aimed at improving public safety across the city.
Minority Caucus Chair Anthony Piagentini says this is an ongoing, collaborative effort rather than a one-time legislative push.
“None of this is like a one-time we file a bunch of legislation and we're done,” said Piagentini, “A lot of this will be ongoing discussions with different organizations, different people.”
Some initiatives include a streetlight pilot program, flock cameras, enhanced penalties for illegal ATV use and damage to property, building a new jail, increasing transparency between prosecutors and judges, strengthening efforts to combat human trafficking, and accelerating the opening of a new juvenile d
