Work is soon set to begin on an $8.3 million roundabout at the Highway 4 and Beaver Creek Road intersection.

The B.C. government says the installation of the roundabout aims to make travel at this Highway 4 intersection safer by reducing congestion, improving sight lines, supporting future traffic demands, and eliminating the need for left turns.

The intersection is currently unsignalized, and ICBC crash stats show there have been 19 crashes at this intersection between 2020 and 2024.

In addition to the roundabout, there will be multi-use paths, sidewalks and bike-friendly shoulders at the intersection.

During construction, traffic changes may include detours, night-time paving and temporary sidewalk or shoulder closures, but access to the marina will remain open.
